Fire & Ice

Fire & Ice (PC-72) is a dramatic mid-fire glaze that flows with deep ox-blood red where applied thickly and icy blue where thin, offering a compelling duality of tone across a single piece. On broad smooth panels it builds rich, molten red pools; across textured ridges or wakes of thinner application the cool blue break shimmers, giving the glaze a “fire within ice” effect. Layering or controlled thickness can intensify the red-blue contrast, making it a statement glaze for expressive functional forms.

• Fires to Cone 5/6 in oxidation.
• Food-safe, ASTM D-4236 compliant.
• Results vary with application; three coats recommended for full red depth, thin areas will shift blue.
