Ancient Jasper

Ancient Jasper (PC-53) is a fluid, opaque glaze that transitions from soft black to olive green to rust red as thickness increases, offering a rich variation of earthy tones in one glaze. On thinner coats it presents a charcoal-black base; in medium coverage olive green begins to emerge; in heavier areas rust red surfaces bloom, especially on iron-rich clay bodies. Layering with other glazes yields striking results, making this glaze excellent for expressive stoneware and art pottery.

• Fires to Cone 5/6 in oxidation.
• Food-safe, ASTM D-4236 compliant.
• Results vary with application; heavier application produces more red tones, lighter produces olive/black.
